Glen Canyon National Recreational Area

Heading towards Page, AZ we had to stop at the famous Horseshoe Bend. We were surprised by how different it looked, apparently the national park system decided to do some construction. I hope it remains a free stop off, although the new bathrooms, fencing, and garbage cans make me think it’ll require a day fee to visit. Nature should be free!

Dispersed camping on Lake Powell, what could be better? Doing some much needed maintenance and organization on De’Von, we hung out on the sandy beach and listened to the birds splash in the water. We set up our tent, eventually made dinner, and sat by the fire. It was unbearably cold near the water, probably low 20’s, so we bundled up as best as we could in the tent.

We prepped De’Von for carrying an extra 2 people and their luggage since we were going to pick up our friends, Kevin and Eric the next day. They will stay with us for four nights in Zion and Bryce National Park.
